Although The Gaslight Anthem announced in July that they were going on an indefinite hiatus, members of the band haven’t exactly distanced themselves from songwriting. Following frontman Brian Fallon’s announcement of a solo album earlier this week, drummer Benny Horowitz is now collaborating with fellow New Jersey musicians for a melodic hardcore side project. The lineup also consists of Mike Maroney, Corey Perez, Derek Reilly, and Dan King (of New Brunswick’s Gates).

Bottomfeeder haven’t yet released any music, but they’ll put out their debut EP, titled II, on Good Fight Music this winter.

“After a 15 year friendship with Benny, and knowing the rest of the guys through the New Jersey scene, it was awesome to find a project to work together on,” said Good Fight owner Carl Severson. “We’ve added a lot of awesome bands to the Good Fight family and we’ve been lucky to do so, but there’s a special spot here for NJ’s finest.”

The Gaslight Anthem released Get Hurt in 2014. Watch the video for the title track below.
