Here’s Boyz II Men covering “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” because why not?

It’s a long way from Philadelphia to Seattle—2,800 miles, to be exact. But just because R&B group Boyz II Men came up on the opposite of the country as grunge legends Nirvana doesn’t mean they were immune to the impact of Nevermind, specifically “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” So on a recent tour stop at the Kentucky State Fair, the trio from the city of Brotherly Love included their soulful rendition of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” into a rock medley that also included their take on Lenny Kravitz’s version of “American Woman” as well as the Beatles’ “Come Together.” It’s kind of surreal and honestly sounds pretty good—and hopefully, the end result is Dave Grohl making Foo Fighters cover “I’ll Make Love To You” the next time the band rolls through Philadelphia or something. (A guy can dream, can’t he?)
