The ubiquitous Battle Of The Bands: They’re a part of virtually every musician’s life, for better or for worse. South Carolina electro-pop quartet Death Of Paris has experienced their fair share, too, so they thought they’d pay tribute to these dreaded competitions with their new music video for “Give + Take,” the lead track off their new EP Gossip—only they decided to get a bit more literal (and bloody) with it. Frontwoman Jayna Doyle explains:

“Every band dreads entering a Battle Of The Bands. There’s always local politics, unfairness or even worse—egos get hurt. An actual fist fight until the last band is standing would probably be easier a lot of the times. So, we decided to take matters into our own hands and hold a true battle of the bands. All of the fictitious bands in the video are extreme stereotypes that everyone has come across at some point. With the fighting spirit of the song, we just wanted to make something fun that would showcase how ridiculous battles of the bands can be.”

Gossip is out now.
