Indie rock supergroups have been all the rage this summer: First we learned about Coromandelles, comprised of members of Cold War Kids, Modest Mouse and the Shins, and now we’ve been made aware of the Bulls, a brand new Los Angeles band comprised of Anna Bulbrook, vocalist/keyboardist/violinist of the Airborne Toxic Event and Marc Sallis, bassist of the Duke Spirit. According to a press release, the band’s origin story is as follows: “The two musicians had run into one another several times on the touring circuit over the past few years, and finally pulled the cord on a collaboration once the topics of the subversive albums of the 80s new wave scene, and the 90s shoegaze that followed it.” The duo will release their debut EP, Small Problems, on August 28 via Diet Pink Records. You can sample the title track below, as well as watch the music video for the EP’s closing track, “Come Unwound.” If you dig what you hear, you can pre-order the EP.
