Braid guitarist/vocalist Chris Broach planning to make a new Firebird Band album with Will Yip

While many people know Chris Broach as the “Yeah!” guy in recently reunited emo stalwarts Braid, he actually has a number of musical projects outside of that group, the longest-running being the Firebird Band. While that project has been largely dormant since 2004’s The City At Night, Broach is hoping to revive the Firebird Band this year with your help. He plans on self-releasing the album later this year and he’s already recruited producer Will Yip, who manned the boards for Braid’s phenomenal return effort No Coast on Topshelf Records, so now he just needs to raise the money via Kickstarter—$15,000, to be precise. Rewards range from digital copies of the album (for only $9) to a personalized song ($1,000) to a private show for you and up to 50 friends ($2,500). You can pledge here and sample some of the new music the band are working on below.
