The Front Bottoms drop surprise single with an amazing one-take music video

New Jersey folk-pop-punkers the Front Bottoms just played a sold-out show here in Cleveland last night, so what better way to celebrate than by releasing a brand new song? (Truthfully, there is probably zero connection there, but this city is so hot right now from the NBA Finals that anything is possible.) Anyway, TFB dropped a new track called “West Virginia” which is available as a free download if you sign up for their mailing list. Better still, they also put out a music video for the song, which to this humble editor’s eyes appears to be one take, more or less (with a slight bit of cutaway to a strobe light-assisted guitar solo). Check it out below and decide for yourself if there’s some movie magic going on.

Does this mean a new record is on the way? There have been rumblings that point that way (and that also point the band headed to a much bigger record label than Bar/None Records, their most recent home). When we know more, you’ll know more.

The Front Bottoms’ remaining summer tour dates are as follows:

06.09 – Metro Gallery – Baltimore, MD w/LVL UP
06.22 – Music Hall Of Williamsburg – Brooklyn, NY
