Gatsbys American Dream were one of the best bands of the 2000s that you probably didn’t listen to, and that’s on you: The band put out four full-lengths and an EP, were on the road for a solid half-decade and released two amazing records through Fearless Records (and later, during a short-lived reunion, two songs on Equal Vision). And while the odds of that rumored Gatsbys reunion album ever coming to fruition are pretty slim, we now have a new band called the Money Pit, comprised of Gatsbys vocalist Nic Newsham and Gatsbys guitarist/vocalist Bobby Darling (aka the songwriting core of Gatsbys American Dream). The duo released their first song, “Control Everything,” today and are already on Facebook and Twitter. Most importantly, though, Newsham tweeted that the Money Pit’s debut album is already done—so hopefully we’ll get some more details sooner rather than later. In the meantime, check out “Control Everything” below and get stoked for what’s still to come.
