Long Island quintet This Is All Now might have cribbed their name from a Taking Back Sunday song (and a great one at that), but their pop-rock sound is much more straightforward and their lyrics tug on a hell of a lot of heartstrings, as you can hear on the band’s new EP, Homecoming—and especially on their new song, “24 Hour Nights,” featuring none other than Jason Lancaster, formerly of Mayday Parade and Go Radio. It’s a massive sing-along assisted with soaring strings and a “doo-doo-doo” part that will stick in your head for hours after you’re done listening. The band comment:
‘”24 Hour Nights’ is hands down one of our favorite songs we’ve ever worked on. Even more so this pleasure was due to working with the man himself, Jason Lancaster; he was an absolute genius. From the minute we had the concept to the minute we had written the song it was seamless. The song was written knowing people could relate, we wrote it about not having enough hours in a day to spend with someone you may love or someone who is leaving soon, so you make the most of all of your time, and enjoy the little things. Most importantly, turn those 24-hour days into endless 24-hour nights.”
Homecoming will be released July 7 and can be pre-ordered here.
