You might have seen Reckless Serenade on tour with the Bunny The Bear earlier this month, as the two bands teamed up for a run up and down the East Coast. But the Mahopac, New York, quintet don’t rely on masks and electronics to win over crowds, instead using a solid blend of ’90s alt-rock, mid-’00s post-hardcore and a sick sense of groove. But when you make a music video, you gotta make an impact, so the band turned to director Andrew Keyser, who has created clips for the likes of Dillon Francis and RL Grime, as well as actress Rebecca Ruber, who you might’ve seen in MTV’s recent “Nonstop Summer” promo, to create this risque and bloody clip for their new song, “Pretty Monster.” Guitarist Mark Neidhardt explains:
“The process of filming ‘Pretty Monster’ was definitely one we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. In order to finish the video in two days, we had to film for 36 hours straight with about two hours of sleep. The band shots for the video were filmed between the hours of 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. Surprisingly, you can’t tell that we’re all about to fall asleep. I want to thank Andrew Keyser and his crew and Rebecca Ruber for being troopers and sticking it out with us!”
