Seattle prog-poppers Minus The Bear have teamed up with photographer Ryan Russell to release a performance video of a brand new song through Russell’s Nervous Energies series. The song, titled “Fair Enough,” is notable for being the first new music MTB have created since drummer Erin Tate was removed from the band in January. When I interviewed guitarist Dave Knudson last fall, he said their new material draws inspiration from their earlier records, and one listen to “Fair Enough” should drive that point home—it is less overtly proggy than a lot of MTB’s more recent albums yet still retains the melody and expertly delivered emotional crescendos the band have become experts at over their career. Minus The Bear also performed a track from 2005’s Menos El Oso, an album that will turn 10 years old this August, as part of their Nervous Energies session, too, which can be viewed below.
