John Nolan (Taking Back Sunday) announces new solo album, summer tour dates

When he’s not releasing recordings of his high school band with Brand New’s Jesse Lacey, Taking Back Sunday guitarist/vocalist John Nolan has been working on his new solo record, Sad Strange Beautiful Dream. The Mike Sapone-produced follow-up to 2009’s Height will be released July 27 via Collective Confusion. Nolan explains:

“It’s not quite like anything I’ve ever done before. I really wanted to put together a solo album sooner than this and I’ve had other windows of opportunity, but this time the songs luckily started coming together and all the pieces started falling into place. I’m so excited for everyone to hear it.”

Sad Strange Beautiful Dream can be pre-ordered here (with a portion of all proceeds going to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital); Nolan will hit the road in support of the release later this summer:
