EXCLUSIVE: Typesetter look at the duality of self in “Sunday Best” music video

While they might self-identify as a “brewgaze” band, Chicago’s Typesetter really play a strain of punk rock that’s loud yet introspective, catchy yet passionate—some easy reference points would be the Menzingers and Restorations. On their debut album, Wild’s End, the quartet dig deep to explore who they really are, especially on “Sunday Best,” which is now getting the music video treatment. Guitarist/vocalist Marc Bannes explains the concept behind the video:

“‘Sunday Best’ is a song about duality in one’s head, but the video is really brought to life by the interpretation of Chicago-based actor and performance artist Katy Nielsen. We prompted her with an open-ended idea which she developed into the characters in the video. Coupled with the cinematography of Murphy Welch, the video gives a new depth to the song. Huge thanks to everyone involved!”

Wild’s End is available now on Black Numbers.
