EXCLUSIVE: Dependence discover the pain of loneliness in the slow-motion “Still” music video

1945

Fresno, California’s Dependence are playing a style of post-hardcore that has more in common with Touche Amore and La Dispute than Chiodos and Pierce The Veil. On their new album, Holding On When Moving On, they’re not focused on the musical breakdown, but more so the emotional breakdown, especially on “Still,” their new single. Vocalist Tyler Isch explains:

“‘Still’ was a song where I really wanted to get back to writing very upfront and personal songs about real things that had been going on in my life. I wanted it to really be something that someone could latch onto and say, ‘I’ve been there.’ I just wanted the content to be really accessible and straight from the heart. Hopefully people can relate to it in some way and it can do for them what so many bands had done for me, specifically As Cities Burn.”

Holding On When Moving On is available now via InVogue Records.
