Watch the Swellers play their impassioned final U.S. show in its entirety

Full disclosure: I love the Swellers. I’ve seen them live more times than I have seen some of my nieces and nephews; they’ve slept on my floor more times than my dog has; the band even recorded a cover of one of my favorite Weezer songs, “El Scorcho,” for my wedding 7-inch. So when the Flint, Michigan, pop-punk quartet announced they were calling it a night after a series of final shows in the U.S. and Europe, my heart ached with the loss our scene would experience. Thankfully, the band had the forethought to record their final U.S. performance at the Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California, on April 4. You can watch the nearly 90-minute set in its entirety below, though I personally recommend hitting that “watch later” button then accessing the video through your TV if you have a fancy thing like Chromecast or Amazon Fire TV or something. (It’s what I’m doing right now as I type this.) RIP, Swelldawgs.

While this might have been the Swellers’ final U.S. performance, the band have a final European tour still on the docket. Dates:
