Fucked Up announce ‘Zodiac’ tour, debut “California Cold”

Artful hardcore experimentalists Fucked Up have released a stream of the b-side from their upcoming Year of the Hare EP. Hear the eight-minute “California Cold” at Stereogum. Year of the Hare marks the seventh entry in the band’s ongoing Zodiac series, where the band typically pair up two progressive and experimental (read: very long) tracks. The record will see a release on June 16 through Deathwish, Inc.

Starting May 1, Fucked Up will tour in support of Year of the Hare as well as their six other Zodiac releases. The band announced that they will perform live with nine members — including members of Toronto’s Doomsquad — and the setlist will vary each night, drawing specifically from the Zodiac releases. Many of the planned songs in the setlist have never been played live. Considering this comes from the band who once played a free 12-hour show in New York City, surprises are to be expected.
