New Jersey quartet Deaf Rhino are a rock band, and they’re progressive, but don’t call them prog-rock. Think of a cross between the groove of Envy On The Coast and the straightforward, catchy aggressiveness of Bayside and you have an idea what you’re dealing with here. The band recently filmed their sold-out show at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, and the music video for their new song “If I Could” is the result. The band explain:

“We’re a small band from New Jersey. We’ve built something organic through hard work and through a real community of artists, venues, friends, fans, family and rock ‘n’ roll. We could have made a tricked-out video but we wanted the first look people have of us to be what we really are; four friends that love playing music together.”

Deaf Rhino’s debut LP, the Brett Romnes-produced Dirt, Rust, Chaos, comes out May 5.
