Connecticut emo band The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die — or Long Band Name, as they’re affectionately known around Connecticut — have signed to Epitaph Records. Details surrounding the band’s Epitaph full-length debut are forthcoming, but the band will also release two records in the interim: a split 7″ with Rozwell Kid on Broken World Media (due June 23), followed by Death to New Years, a two-song 7″ on Topshelf Records (due July 28).
“Epitaph’s Punk-O-Rama Vol. 3 inspired 13-year-old me to begin a life of poor decision making,” said The World is a Beautiful Place guitarist Derrick Shanholtzer-Dvorak. “We are a band that likes to follow through on all of our terrible ideas, so it’s great to be on a label that enthusiastically supports us in this.”
The World is a Beautiful Place released their debut full-length Whenever, If Ever on Topshelf Records in 2013.
The band will play a handful of dates with Spraynard and Makeshift Shelters in June. See a list of dates below.
