California indie-rock trio the Velvet Teen have announced their signing to Topshelf Records, which will release their new full-length, All Is Illusory, on June 30. The album was co-produced by Steve Choi (Rx Bandits) and Roger Camaro (No Motiv), and is the Velvet Teen’s first full-length in nine years (which is way too fucking long, if you ask me, though 2010’s No Star EP was full of solid jams). Topshelf describes the album as “a welcome return for a band whose varied influences are still very much intact after its short silence,” full of “gorgeous, swirling electronics to its harder, angular, ’90s-leaning flourishes of grunge, indie and emo.” You can find the cover art and tracklisting below, as well as the band’s current tour dates; a pre-order will eventually be launched here.
