EXCLUSIVE: UnWed (mbrs. of Hot Water Music/Small Brown Bike) get grimy on “You’ll Burn”

Brooklyn, New York-based quintet UnWed have only been a band for under two years, yet they sound like a band who have been playing together for decades. Part of that can be attributed to their all-star rhythm section of Jason Black (also of Hot Water Music) on bass and Jeff Gentsterblum (also of Small Brown Bike) on drums, as well as guitarist Arty Shepherd, who has played in a variety of NYC bands including Errortype:11 and Gay For Johnny Depp. But what really drives UnWed are the vocals of frontwoman Neltie Penman, who slithers all over the verses of “You’ll Burn” before crooning the chorus like some sort of sadistic lounge singer, as her band thrashes behind her. UnWed’s debut album Raise The Kids comes out April 7 on 6131 Records but you can pre-order it right now.

UnWed will hit the road this April in support of Raise The Kids:

Apr 17 MAC’S BAR Lansing, MI w/LaSalle, Worn Spirit
Apr 18 Reggie’s Rock Club Chicago, IL
Apr 19 The Mr Robot Project Pittsburgh, PA
