EXCLUSIVE: Hit The Lights’ “No Filter” is a high-energy diss track to an ex

Hit The Lights

It’s been a rough few years for Lima, Ohio, pop-punkers Hit The Lights. The band went through some well-documented label struggles and their last album struggled to connect with fans, causing the band to nearly break up. Luckily, they reconsidered, and as a result we have the explosive Summer Bones, Hit The Lights’ fourth full-length and first for new label Pure Noise Records, out March 24. Today, we’re premiering “No Filter,” which finds frontman Nick Thompson taking an ex-flame to task while his band grind out high-powered pop-punk behind him. And yeah, the song title might be a veiled reference to Instagram, but it also describes Thompson’s lyrics perfectly.
