EXCLUSIVE: Brigades explore their softer side with the acoustic “Under My Skin”

South Carolina’s Brigades are best known for their hard-hitting blend of pop-punk and hardcore, as found on last year’s Crocodile Tears EP. But the quintet thought they would change it up a bit with their next release, and thus we have Our Lives Unfold, Brigades’ new acoustic EP to be released March 31 via Pure Noise Records. Today, we’re premiering a lyric video for their brand new song “Under My Skin.” Vocalist Darren Young explains:

“I wrote ‘Under My Skin’ when we were in the studio recording our full-length. We went straight in from a U.S. tour. It’s a song about being uncomfortable with who I was and the life I was leading. Feeling alone in the world. I was really blocked off from my friends, family, band and co-workers. This song really helped me rip that piece of hopelessness and self pity out of me. I was really glad the band liked it.”
