It was only a few years ago that Hunter Moore went from a nobody to infamous nearly overnight, with the launch of his scene-based revenge-porn website Is Anyone Up?. The site was shut down in 2012, concurrent with an investigation by the FBI into Moore’s underhanded techniques to acquire photos, many times without the consent of the person or people in the risque pictures. In January 2014, Moore and a friend were indicted by the FBI, and now, more than a year later, Moore is about to enter a world of judicial hurt.

According to Ars Technica, the 28-year-old Moore pled guilty yesterday to unauthorized access to a computer, aiding and abetting unauthorized access of a computer, and identity theft. Moore faces between two and seven years in jail, plus probation for up to three years following release as well as fines that could total up to $500,000, depending on how sentencing comes down. His next court date is scheduled for Feb. 25 but may be delayed until March.

Moore’s friend Charles Evens will go on trial next month for a similar set of charges.
