Hear punk covers of songs from ‘The Wedding Singer,’ ‘Billy Madison,’ ‘Doug’ and more

One of my personal favorite things is TV shows and movies that feature original songs played by fictional bands. So when I heard about Faux Real II, I got stoked: It’s 10 of the coolest bands in indie/punk (including Chumped, LVL UP and Allison Crutchfield) covering some of the most classic songs ever, including “Killer Tofu” from Nickelodeon’s Doug, Almost Famous‘ classic “Fever Dog” and not one but two Adam Sandler songs. You can hear one of them, “Somebody Kill Me” from The Wedding Singer as covered by LVL UP, below.

Faux Real II will be available on April 28 through Father/Daughter Records on purple vinyl, limited to 500 copies with a digital download card. It will not be repressed or released digitally, according to the label.
