EXCLUSIVE: City Of Ships channel Failure and Hum with “Alarm”

Substream is proud to present the exclusive premiere of “Alarm,” taken from shoegazing rockers City Of Ships‘ upcoming album Ultraluminal, out in the U.S. on CD/digitally via Translation Loss Records and on vinyl through Science Of Silence Records on April 21. “Alarm” will surely conjure up memories of such classic ’90s bands as Failure, Shiner and Hum (at least it did for this editor). Frontman Eric Jernigan comments on the song’s creation:

“‘Alarm’ was among the first new songs we worked out for ‘Ultraluminal’. The rocksteady groove sucked us in as soon as Andrew presented the bass line. After just one rehearsal jamming on it, we knew this cut would be special.”

Check out the song below and pre-order the vinyl (limited to only 500 copies) here.
