MTV KICKS OFF THE NEW YEAR GIVING ONE LUCKY FAN THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO ON TOUR WITH BRITISH BAND RIXTON

MTV today announced that it will kick off the new year with the latest installment of the “Ultimate Fan Experience” campaign, presented by Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar®. In anticipation of their forthcoming debut album, “Let The Road” hitting stores on March 3, the campaign will feature platinum selling British band Rixton and give one of their biggest fans the opportunity to go on tour with the band as they make stops in Orlando and Miami. Additionally, the fan and their guest will meet the band and get a provate acoustic performance.

“Our fans mean the world to us and we’re beyond excited to take them on the road,” says Rixton’s Jake Roche.

Rixton’s Ultimate Fan Experience campaign kicks off today and runs through January 19, where one lucky fan and their guest will get a trip to Orlando and Miami and get the VIP treatment for both shows. Also, while in Miami the fan will get to meet the band in person and attend a private acoustic set. The night will end with a $100 gift card to dine at Applebee’s.

Beginning today, MTV and Applebee’s will run a series of spots across MTV’s various channels and screens (including MTV, MTV Hits, MTV.com, and MTV Artists) to encourage fans to head to UFE.MTV.com to enter for a chance to win. Additional “Ultimate Fan Experiences” featuring various artists will rollout throughout 2015.

MTV piloted the “Ultimate Fan Experience” last year where it quickly became a hit with fans and artists alike. The most recent campaign with One Direction was the biggest entry to date with over 62,000 entries followed closely by Miley Cyrus with 61,000 entries. Additional artists who have participated include Fifth Harmony, Maroon 5, Nick Jonas, Britney Spears, Austin Mahone, Demi Lovato and more.

Rixton’s debut Me And My Broken Heart EP, featuring their multi-platinum hit single of the same title, cracked the Top 10 and Top 40 radio charts, climbed to No. 1 on the UK Singles chart and ranks one of the most Shazam-ed new tracks in the U.S., while the official video has racked up more than 41 million views on YouTube/VEVO. Rixton has delivered killer performances on Late Night With Seth Meyers, The Voice, Ellen, So You Think You Can Dance, The TODAY Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and more, in addition to being featured as an MTV 2014 “Artist To Watch” and a VEVO LIFT artist. The band has announced their new single “Hotel Ceiling” will be released in January. Rixton will set out on a US tour supporting Ariana Grande in February prior to the release of their debut album Let The Road on March 3rd via School Boy/Giant Little Man/Mad Love/Interscope Records.
