In April of this year, Manchester Orchestra released COPE, an album that promises to top the charts of the year’s best across the globe come December. Today, just 5 months removed from that release, the band is announcing a complete re-imagining of the record that is available for digital purchase today.

HOPE shares the same track listing as its predecessor, but represents something entirely different. This isn’t an acoustic record. It’s more than that. “We were noticing that all the beautiful, slow stuff was working with all the really loud and fast stuff,” said lead vocalist, Andy Hull. “The seed was planted to go back and create a full circle of an album.”

The track sounded bigger and the fans loved it. This propelled the band’s desire to reshape these songs in a new and different way.

Over the summer, in the same studio where they originally forged COPE, the band re-imagined the songs with a renewed sense of purpose and fresh perspective. Using Fender Rhodes, piano, vocal re-arrangements and strings, Manchester Orchestra, with an assist from illustrious sound mixer Phil Ek (Built To Spill, Beach House, Fleet Foxes), transformed COPE‘s eleven tracks into something completely new and mesmerizing: HOPE. “We were really proud of the stuff we were recording but Phil did an amazing job on the mixes,” Andy notes. “It was the perfect reverb on my voice. I had never heard my vocals mixed that way.”

The band has also announced that fans purchasing tickets for any date of the upcoming HOPE tour will get a digital copy download of the full album straight away. The stripped-down fall/winter U.S. HOPE tour, which begins in Memphis, TN on October 31st, offers a rare chance to see the band perform in specially chosen, intimate venues. The 13-date run concludes on December 13th at the super-unique Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, TN. Tickets are on sale at the band’s official website today at 12PM EST.

The album can be purchased on iTunes today and will be available on CD and Vinyl on November 18. Tour dates and two tracks from HOPE can be found below.
