Decaydance Records, and its label-head Pete Wentz, have long been known as tastemakers. Behind the careers of platinum selling acts like Panic! at the Disco, as well as radio frequenters Gym Class Heroes and Cobra Starship, the Fueled By Ramen imprint has made a name for itself and done very very well.
Things haven’t been all sunshine and rainbows for the label, though. In recent years, Decaydance has lost a majority of its roster to other labels and disbandment. The Cab, Four Year Strong, Millionaires, Tyga, and The Ready Set have all moved on to other companies, while Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, The Academy Is…, Black Cards, and Hey Monday have all called it a day. Now that the Clandestine bat has been dropped from the logo and two new acts have been signed, DCD2 Records is ready to launch its second takeover.
“I’m super excited about this expansion of the label that will allow our bands to grow into new and different things,” said Wentz, “It’s the beginning of our second decade and hopefully we can add to our legacy of lifting up artists. We have found true kindred spirits in New Politics and LOLO and love giving people we believe in a bigger platform.”
