Chicago’s own alt-indie fusionists EMPIRES have recently premiered their new music video for the single “How Good Does it Feel.” The band brings a hauntingly raw brand of alternative to music – mixing highly apparent 80s influence with current indie rock sensibility. “How Good Does It Feel,” which premiered on The Wall Street Journal, is now available on the band’s official YouTubeVEVO channel.
Compared to such artists as The National and Editors, the band’s “How Good Does It Feel” was also spotlighted by NPR on their 100 bands to watch at SXSW. The track comes from the band’s forthcoming EP – also titled How Good Does It Feel – and will be out June 17th on Chop Shop / Island Records. The EP was produced by John Congleton (St. Vincent, The Black Angels, Cloud Nothings) and will be available in digital and on limited edition 10″ vinyl.
Empires have been touring non-stop since the beginning of the year, including a successful stop at SXSW and two sold out hometown shows in Chicago – getting fans excited by introducing the new songs through their explosive live show.
Empires will hit the road with Margot & The Nuclear So and So’s beginning this Friday April 25th, and are looking forward to performing at this year’s Bonnaroo, Hangout, Bottle Rock, and the Austin City Limits Music Festivals.
