Just outside of Boston, near Feels Point, is Aliceanna Street. 10 years ago, Alesana was born and boy have they made that street proud. Since inception, Alesana has played over 600 shows, in over 20 countries and five continents. They have sold over 200,000 CDs, have an online following of 3,000,000, have amassed a staggering 50,000,000 YouTube views and they’re not done yet.
In 2005, Alesana released their debut EP, Try This With Your Eyes Closed with Tragic Hero Records and began building a buzz with their unique style. In June of 2006, Alesana released their debut album On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax, and in less than six months, had caught the attention of Fearless Records and signed with them later that year. The band lived on the road for the next five years, touring with bands such as Motionless In White, BMTH, Emmure and Sleeping With Sirens. They also did three years of Warped Tour and have built a very dedicated and loyal fan base nationwide.
Where Myth Fades to Legend was released in the summer of 2008 and was the bands first time on the Billboard 200 debuting at 96. Over the next three years, Alesana would release two more full length albums, The Emptiness and The Place Where the Sun is Silent, which debuted at 68 and 55 respectively.
In May 2013, it was announced that Alesana had left Epitaph records and would be releasing their next CD independently, and throughout that year, the band gave updates about the progress of the unreleased album. In January 2014, Alesana announced they had signed with Artery Recordings and would be releasing a new EP titled The Decade, April 1st, 2014. While this EP won’t follow the story of Annabel, the bands insists she will be back.
