Northlane recently debuted their music video for the song “Dream Awake.” The track appears on the Australian outfit’s second full-length offering, Singlarity, which was produced and mixed by Will Putney (Lamb Of God, Suicide Silence, Fit For An Autopsy). Instantly winning mass acclaim upon its Australian release earlier this year for its blend of post-hardcore and modern metal, Singularity received its official North American release November 5th. Northlane is nearing the end of a tour with Veil Of Maya, Structures, Vildhjarta and Here Comes The Kraken, directly following the album’s North American release. The tour marked Northlane’s first performances in the U.S.

Formed in 2010, Northlane quickly became a standalone act in Sydney’s metal and hardcore scene. After self-releasing their debut EP Hollow Existence, Northlane followed up the hype with 2011’s Discoveries (released by leading Australian Indie label UNFD). The high praise of that album lead to Australian tours with the likes of August Burns Red, Blessthefall, and Parkway Drive, as well as a Canadian run with Stray From The Path. In late 2012, Northlane made their way to New Jersey’s famed Machine Shop studios to record with Putney. The album also features an appearance from Stray From The Path’s Drew York on the track “Masquerade.”
The resulting album topped iTunes charts in March 2013 upon its Australian release and debuted at No. 3 on the ARIA (Australia’s version of Billboard) charts. The buzz behind the album lead to Singularity being named the No. 1 album of 2013 so far by Triple J Radio’s “Short Fast Loud” program, over 880,000 YouTube views for the video of “Quantum Flux” and a sold-out 13-date headlining tour of Australia. This also gave way to Northlane conquering Europe on Impericon’s Never Say Die tour, also featuring the likes of Emmure and Carnifex. Northlane’s set at the tour’s stop in London earned them high praise from Kerrang UK, who proclaimed that “despite delivering just four deadly tracks of their ethereal metalcore, manage to justify their ultra-hype with a colossal pit.”
