The band’s five-track EP is their heaviest yet and reveals insight to the band’s potential as a progressive metal band. “How to Survive” is redolent of Periphery and Born of Osiris- the band could be a competitor if they break free from the profusion of low-tuned chugging guitars and breakdowns and embrace this side of themselves.  “Soul Is Dead” is the most truculent track of the five, with a hard-hitting intro, heavy metal riffs from Josh Travis, and a surprisingly dramatic conclusion. The moments of musical perfection are when Jerry Roush sings eerily over filthy guitars- which is hopefully more prevalent in future releases. Glass Cloud has all of the right tools, they just need to push the envelope and take more risks.
