Electronic artist and YouTube phenomenon, Lindsey Stirling, will re-release an expanded version of her self-titled debut album on October 29 through a new partnership with Caroline.
Originally self-released in September 2012, Stirling’s debut stands as one of the biggest artist development breakthrough stories in recent years. Despite being sold almost exclusively online and at her concerts, the album has sold more than 180,000 copies in the U.S. alone according to Soundscan, while holding onto the top spot on iTunes Electronic Music chart and a place in the Billboard Top 200 for over a year. Lead by the single “Crystallize,” the album charted in 13 other countries, including Germany and Switzerland where it has been certified Gold. The virtuoso violinist has also racked up over 800,000 individual track sales, placing several songs on the iTunes Top 100 Singles chart.
Lindsey Stirling is a true, multi-faceted original. The Arizona native is a classically trained violinist who blends electronic beats, dance, animation, theatrics and visuals with her native instrument. She composes all of her own music and choreographs and directs her wildly successful videos. Leveraging YouTube as her primary platform to connect with fans, Stirling has amassed a staggering number of admirers, with over 3.2 million subscribers to her Lindseystomp channel (making it one of top-100, most-subscribed channels on YouTube) and over 400 million video views to date. She recently wrapped a sold-out, 46-city tour of the US and she has performed nearly 100 concerts in Europe and Asia, selling over 80,000 tickets.
Stirling’s debut album has enjoyed wide crossover appeal as it marries her unique take on classical violin with modern elements gleaned from the electronic dance music underworld. It features 12 original songs, including the hit “Crystallize,” which was the eighth most-watched video on YouTube in 2012, as well as two bonus tracks. Target stores will be carrying an exclusive deluxe version of the album which, will feature newly recorded versions and remixes of the tracks “Crystallize”, “Elements”, “Transcendence,” “My Immortal” and more, while all other retailers will have two additional bonus tracks.
