Parade Of Lights sign to Astralwerks Records. The LA-based alt-electro quartet caught the NYC-based label’s ear with new single “We’re The Kids” – a fist-pumping indie-pop anthem with undeniable appeal. So undeniable that radio began spinning the track on its merits alone. It’s a rare thing for commercial radio to champion an unsigned artist but Parade Of Lights are the exception to the rule. Astralwerks moved quickly to sign the band, explode the single, and support the band’s forthcoming EP (due later this year).
Combining equal parts rock, electro, and shoegaze, the band creates a unique blend of 80’s influenced anthem-ready indie pop. “We’re The Kids is already receiving top-10 airplay on Sirius Alt Nation and gathering traction at terrestrial radio with support from KROQ, Live 105, KXTE, and WEQX plus blog buzz from folks such as Kevin Bronson of Buzzbands LA, Hand Clap Movement, The Burning Ear, Indie Shuffle, and more all singing the band’s praises. The single is out now and a forthcoming EP is planned for release via Astralwerks later this year.
Parade Of Lights is Ryan Daly (lead vocals/guitar), Anthony Improgo (drums), Randy Schulte (bass/backing vocals) and Michelle Ashley (keys/backing vocals). Daly and Improgo, both formerly of POLUS, formed Parade Of Lights in 2010. Over the next two years the two friends and longtime musical collaborators focused on perfecting the band’s lineup and live show. The band spent 2010 and 2011 touring throughout Southern California, Utah and Nevada, and opening for artists such as Imagine Dragons, Fitz And The Tantrums, and The Neighbourhood. 2012 saw the release of Parade Of Lights’ self-released debut EP “Born to Live, Born to Love,” which introduced fans to the hook-laden, electronic shoegaze sound for which it is now known.
Parade Of Lights is a band on-the-rise with staying power, serious songwriting chops, and hooks that will have you pressing repeat over and over again. Check out “We’re The Kids” on YouTube and Soundcloud, and stay tuned for the band’s upcoming EP release on Astralwerks later this year.
