Warped Tour is synonymous with three main things: Great music, amazing people, and lots — and we do mean a lot — of sweat. With just about a week left of the tour often regarded as a summer camp for some of our favorite musicians, Rock Edition made its way down to Atlanta, GA for the show.
One of the artists we had the pleasure of chatting with was none other than Charlie Simpson, a face that isn’t so familiar in the US, but should be. (And if we are allowed to make a prediction, we think he will be soon.) Playing the Acoustic Basement, Charlie is bringing his indie rock solo project to the tour — at least 20 of the dates — and if all goes according to plan, he’ll be bringing much more to the US after Warped Tour wraps up. With his second solo album going through the final stages of mastering upon his return to the UK, and set to be released later this year, this Brit rocker’s year is about to get a helluva lot busier.
The 28-year-old Woodbridge native joined us for the first installment of Rock Edition Gets Warped to not only play us a song from his first EP, but to sit down and chat about what he’s been up to since we last met, his upcoming release, crowd surf boat racing, and so much more.
