Yesterday, genre-defying pop band Wallpaper. – the brainchild of Oakland-based rapper/songwriter Ricky Reed, releases their debut album, Ricky Reed Is Real, on Epic Records/Boardwalk Music Group.

“I knew I wanted to make a great blue-collar pop record for this generation,” says Ricky. “Tell my real story and deal with real s**t.” He adds, “There are songs about dealing with loss, but there are even more songs about not taking anything for granted, especially your weekends and close friends.”

The buzz around Wallpaper. has been steadily growing over the past two years, with performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Last Call With Carson Daly and sets at Coachella and SXSW. Two of the band’s music videos – “#STUPiDFACEDD” and “FUCKING BEST SONG EVERRR” – have hit over 3 million views on YouTube, while singles from the album have been premiered on Noisey, ARTISTdirect, Idolator, Earmilk, PopDust and SPIN. The band is currently performing on the legendary Vans Warped Tour.

Receiving critical acclaim, Wallpaper. brings a refreshing take on pop music. “‘WHO RLY CRS” doesn’t simply blur the lines between pop, alt and rock. It re-defines them, creating a brand new genre,” ARTISTdirect noted. Earmilk affirmed that, “the blend of pop, rap, and a little soul gives the band an ability to appeal to the masses.”  All the while, Buzznet declared “If you’re looking to bring some life to your pool party this weekend, [RRiR] is a great album to get your friends moving.”
