A Great Big Pile of Leaves is thrilled to announce another headlining run as well as select dates supporting mewithoutYou this August followed by a two week run with Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin in October.  News of the forthcoming tours comes on the heels of a busy month on the road supporting their new album You’re Always On My Mind (July 2, 2013 / Topshelf Records), which came in at #1 on Billboard’s Northeast Regional Heatseekers chart and #41 on CMJ Top 200. The dates included a handful of headlining shows and a few weeks with buzz-band The Front Bottoms in the Northeast and Midwest. The run included a sold-out hometown record release show in NYC at the Studio at Webster Hall on July 13th.

The band hits the road again starting in Baltimore on August 14th, making their way down the coast and then right back up to join mewithoutYou for select dates including a show at the Bell House in Brooklyn. In October, A Great Big Pile of Leaves heads out on the road with Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin for a two week stint that spans the East Coast and Midwest.  The announcement comes just two weeks after the release of their sophomore full-length You’re Always On My Mind, which in addition to making a stellar debut at #1 on the Northeast Regional Heatseekers chart, came in at#15 overall on Heatseekers#9 on Vinyl, and #8 on the Alternative New Artistcharts, among others.

Along the way, A Great Big Pile of Leaves also garnered the attention of many critics, with single “Snack Attack” leading the way.  A perfect summer earworm, Pitchforkwrites: Weiland’s calm, lower register and the ability of the rhythm section to sound antsy even at midtempo recalls the conversational and cerebral, turn-of-the-millennium indie rock of Wheat or later Dismemberment Plan, positioning ‘Snack Attack’ as a similarly extroverted song for people who choose to keep to themselves.” Similar praise for the track came from Stereogum after Nylon kicked off the love fest when they premiered the song back in May, praising “Snack Attack” as “…the dreamiest, ’90s-tinged late-night crawl ever.”
