The event featured an iconic star studded lineup including: The Chainsmokers, Fall Out Boy, Kesha, Halsey, Logic, Niall Horan, Charlie Puth, Liam Payne, Sabrina Carpenter and Why Don’t We.The epicness of the yearly Jingle Ball never disappoints, blending together both rising stars and established stars of the music world for a night filled with radio hits.

Launching the Q102 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2017 Presented by Capital One at Wells Fargo Center, was the up-and-coming Los Angeles based 5-piece, fan favorite boy band Why Don’t We. Their set was full of screaming fans, perfectly synchronized vocals and full of energy.  After releasing their debut single “Taking You,” Why Don’t We immediately exploded into the spotlight giving them radio play, and an outpouring love of support via their social media platforms. Liam Payne taking to the stage next to showcase his solo talents both vocally and visually with his choreographed dance moves with his team of dancers wearing all white. Performing to a crowd who knew every word to every single song he performed including “Strip It Down,” “Get Low,” and “Bedroom Floor.”

Philadelphia native, Sabrina Carpenter took to the stage with her show stopping anthem “Thumbs” in which the crowd put on their own performance screaming the lyrics back to her followed by Halsey, who performed her smash hit single, “Bad at Love.” Halsey who was recently at this same arena on her first arena tour gave the fans a mixture of her biggest hits and they seemed to enjoy every minute of it. Halsey had the entire arena off their feet as if it was her own show. Niall Horan welcomed to the stage with a roaring standing ovation, continued by launching his set with his debut single “This Town” in which fans belted out the lyrics to louder than I’ve ever heard in the arena. Fresh off of his first ever headlining solo Flicker World Tour, Horan performed songs of his No. 1 debut solo record, Flicker. Horan told the crowd “this is the best Jingle Ball we have played to this year, I just want to stay all night.” His setlist included his hit song “Slow Hands,” “Seeing Blind,” “Paper Houses,” “Too Much To Ask,” and as mentioned before his debut single “This Town.

Charlie Puth conquering the Jingle Ball stage next after serenading a Philadelphia cheesesteak to Boyz II Men. Puth told the energetic crowd “I like you, I like you a lot,” before continuing into his hits that conquered the radio stations worldwide launching him to stardom including “One Call Away,” and “See You Again.” His performance was flawlessly perfect, with just himself, a piano and a small backing band. Although, the focus was definitley on his impeccable vocal range, this marked Puth’s third consecutive year performing on the Q102 Jingle Ball. I remember when he was opening the Jingle Ball pre-party a few years ago and amazing to see him reaching his well deserved success. Kesha then taking to the sold out Jingle Ball stage with her breath-taking performance with her hymn for women, “Woman,” continuing with “Learn To Let Go.” Kesha then told ‘her animals’, “My latest record Rainbow would not have happened if it wasn’t for you. This next song is dedicated to all my animals,” launching into her anthem,“Praying.” Finishing out her set with a fan favorite smash hit and one of Ke$ha’s best songs from early on in her career “Tik Tok.” Kesha’s set was a variety of songs currently dominating the Billboard airplay charts from her latest album, Rainbow with the exception of her smash hit “Tik Tok.

Fall Out Boy, who made their second appearance on the Jingle Ball tour this year performing a blend of their biggest hits and fan favorite rock songs launching with the iconic “Sugar We’re Going Down” and “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark.” Continuing with the man who is the “most positive man in music right now” as stated by The Chainsmokers frontman Drew Taggart, LOGIC.  Logic put on an empowering performance spreading positivity through his music, spreading awareness on topics like racism, sexism, peace, and politics. After giving a solid inspiring speech about peace, love and positivity, he ended his set with his most empowering single “1-800-273-8255.” Logic telling the crowd “I know we all have dark times, but this is the brightest time of my life, ya boys even nominated for a Grammy,” after describing how he doesn’t believe where he is today being a guy who grew up with parents who were addicted to drugs and living on welfare in the projects proving it is possible to be what you want to be.

Closing out this sold out fifth stop of the national iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour in Philadelphia was The Chainsmokers who exploded onto the stage with their song “ROSES” continuing right away with their biggest hit to date joined by Halsey, with an incredible performance of “Closer.” The Chainsmokers not stopping with that they performed their smash hit “named after a city in France” performing “Paris,” before inviting their friend to the stage to perform the next one with them, welcoming Emily Warren to perform the song she wrote for them, “Don’t Let Me Down.”
