With the flamboyance of Queen and the billowing force of every ’70s rock band, The Struts have a retro style and arena rock sound that cannot be ignored. They’ve seemingly only grown more and more popular since the release of their debut album, Everybody Wants, featuring hits “Could’ve Been Me” and “Kiss This.”
Today, the U.K. glam rock band–consisting of vocalist Luke Spiller, guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott, and drummer Gethin Davies–have released a brand new song called “One Night Only” via Polydor/Interscope Records. The track follows suit with the band’s classic style of music and gives fans another fun ballad to add to their latest playlist.
In a press release for the song, Spiller explained the meaning behind the song, saying:
“This song is mainly about the relationship between a performer and his/her audience. After touring throughout the United States, we’ve developed a strong relationship with our audience and started to feel more responsibility to them—mainly to give a great show every night. The song has many theatrical moments, making the arrangement one of the most ambitious songs we’ve done. It’s definitely over the top and larger than life, but after experiencing our audience and how they react to our music, I think it’s even more fitting.”
The Struts will be opening for Foo Fighters on the first leg of their US tour this fall. Dates can be found below.
