For some artists, it might be years after an album release before we hear new songs from them again. That’s not how Local Natives roll, though. The band released their third album, Sunlit Youth, in September of last year. Here we are in May, and we already have more new material from the band. This new material takes the form of a new single with Nico Segal called “The Only Heirs,” out through Loma Vista Recordings.
The song is big and expansive with an instrumental built on bells and and a nicely constructed beat to keep things moving. The chorus is boisterous and rich with just enough of a horn section to fit the “Heirs” part of the song and give the track a little bit of extra flavor.
