Believe it or not four years have passed since sisters Este, Alana, and Danielle Haim released their debut album, Days Are Gone. A lot has changed in the world and in music since then, but what hasn’t changed is the fact that HAIM know how to wow us. This morning the trio released their new single “Right Now,” and they’re set to dominate the summer airwaves.

The song premiered on Apple’s Beats 1 show hosted by Zane Lowe. It’s a piano-driven affair as Danielle takes to the keys. The song is about a former flame who constantly disappointed and neglected, but of course has come crawling back. There are a lot of things to love about this song, from Este’s haunting repetition of the title in the background and a few sections of heavy reverb, but my personal favorite may be the percussion outro. The video of the sisters in the studio that accompanies the release was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, so it naturally looks amazing.

There’s no news as of yet from HAIM about an album, but with a new single now that news should be coming soon. In the meantime, they’ll be performing on Saturday Night Live on May 13, and “Right Now” is more than enough to hold us over. As is proclaimed at the end of the video, “that’s how you f*cking do it!”
