A lot of people seem to believe the upcoming Justice League film will make or break Warner Bros. extended DC Comics universe, but what about Wonder Woman? Set for release this June, the first female-lead solo comic book adaptation of the modern age is arriving in just three short months, and earlier tonight a brand new trailer found its way online with loads of never before seen footage.

Set long before the events of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman will give moviegoers their first big screen look at the origin Diana, Princess of the Amazons. The film takes place in Diana’s homeland, as well as here on the planet we call home, and features Chris Pine in a supporting role. You can view the latest/final trailer for the film below:

The official synopsis for Wonder Woman reads:

“Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.”

The first thing that is abundantly clear about this film is that it features a far brighter color palette than the rest of the DCEU. Jenkins’ eye for design and framing has Wonder Woman feeling a world removed from her fellow Justice League members, and we here at Substream believe that is probably for the best. That said, we also thought last year’s Suicide Squad looked pretty great based off the trailers, and we all know how that movie turned out.

Wonder Woman lassos her way into theaters around the globe on June 2, 2017.
