There’s something about a good heist in pop culture that gets audiences fired up. It could be the work of Boston criminals in The Town or gamers pulling off heists of their own in Grand Theft Auto V, but either way a bunch of robbers stealing money gives us the high intensity action fix we need. For that reason alone, we’re excited by the trailer for upcoming heist film, Baby Driver.

The movie follows Baby (Ansel Elgort), whose childhood accident gave him constant tinnitus and also made him an excellent driver, for some reason. He uses this talent as the getaway man for a group of criminals led by mastermind Doc (Kevin Spacey). After meeting and falling for waitress Deborah (Lily James), Baby decides he wants out. Of course, it’s never that easy, and the trailer gives us a glimpse of the car chases and shootouts that come from his decision. Check it out:

You’ll notice that the supporting cast is also excellent, with Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, and Jon Bernthal all appearing as members of the heist crew. There’s even a quick appearance by Red Hot Chilli Peppers‘ Flea in a scene detailing the important differences between Michael Myers the comedian and Michael Myers the fictional serial killer.

Baby Driver was written and directed by Edgar Wright, who has an amazing track record of delivering fun, smart action films in the Three Flavours Cornetto with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, as well as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. His newest offering will be released in theaters on August 11.
