In news you probably already know, life is hard sometimes. It’s easy to get bogged down and lose sight of how great and capable you are of doing fantastic things. If you need a reminder that you’re great, look no further than Alabama band Jule Vera‘s new song, “Lifeline,” to give you the encouragement you need (via Sweety High).

The track finds lead singer Ansley Newman singing of believing in your own capability, even in the face of uncertainty. It’s a message that can resonate with anyone and one we wholly approve of. The backing guitar gives the song a feeling of positive forward momentum, and the fact the instrumentation never rises into any singular moment of triumph fits with the song’s theme of finding a trail for yourself as opposed to experiencing a particular event. The video for the song finds Newman and fellow band members Hogarth Horvath, Jake Roland and William Stacey trapped in coffins of doubt before eventually breaking free and climbing out of the dusty room they’re in. It’s not subtle, but it doesn’t need to be in order to be effective.

The track was released through Weekday Records, and you can watch the music video below. With such a strong entry into 2017, we’re excited to see what Jule Vera has in store for us in the coming months.
