To pursue one’s dreams is to abandon the comforts of what society has deemed to be a normal existence. We’re taught from a young age that normal people do not put their financial, emotional, and physical well being at risk to attempt something that is largely impossible. The ‘normal’ thing, at least as it is told to us, involves striving for a life of leisure over one of constant progression through hard work. To do this however, you must forget your dreams, and in the mind of Mississippi’s ForeverandNever the reward is not worth that sacrifice.

Today, we are thrilled to partner with ForeverandNever to share “Promises,” a moody rock song about the cost of chasing a life in creativity. It’s the perfect appetizer to hook you on the band’s upcoming three-song Promises EP, which arrives on 7″ vinyl June 2. You can stream the single below:

When asked about the song, ForeverandNever vocalist Tyler Vinatelli told us:

“Any artist will tell you about the sacrifices of pursuing their art as a career. “Promises” is a song we wrote about the difficulty of trying to hold together close relationships with loved ones while, at the same time, endlessly pursuing your career. Also, how difficult it is to find someone who understands what we do, how much it means to us and the sacrifices that come along with it.”

ForeverandNever are currently on a short Spring tour, which kicks off tonight in Kentucky. Dates for the run are as follows:

March 31 – Louisville, KY – Third Street Dive
April 1 – Detroit, MI – The Crofoot
April 2 – Cincinnati, OH – The Drinkery
April 3 – Nashville, TN – The High Watt

We expect big things from ForeverandNever in the months ahead. Be sure to Like to the band on Facebook in order to stay up to date on their latest show and release plans.
