For Grand Rapids, MI pop punk quartet Backpacks, their short run from the midwest to the east coast with fellow Michigan act Silver Age was meant to be a fun, pretty standard stint, spreading the good word of their music and get home in one piece. And while the former had been working for them like gangbusters, the latter, unfortunately, wasn’t too kind to them.

The band recently announced on their social media that the transmission in their van they were touring with had malfunctioned and, after exhausting all other options, started a GoFundMe effort to help raise money to get their van fixed and get home safely. This, sadly, meant that the band also had to cancel the two remaining dates of their tour in Akron, OH and Northville, MI.

Though the band reached their requested goal of $1,000 last night, the goal was set as an estimate and may not reflect what the total cost may be, so all donations past the set goal are welcomed.
