At the beginning of the month Michelle Branch returned to our lives with her single “Hopeless Romantic.” It contains all the emotional complexity and dark resonance that Branch has provided in the past, and we love it. Now the track has a new music video to go along with it (via EW).
Just as the song showcases the darker side of romance, so too does the video. We find Branch driving around the city at night, the streetlights casting eerie shadows across the buildings. As Branch sings in the rain and in various warehouses, she remains alone throughout the video. It’s a stirring video that captures the thematic elements of the song perfectly and looks really cool on top of it all. Watch the video here:
