LANY are already rolling with plenty of news to start the new year. The Los Angeles trio has a tour coming up and their first album arriving by the end of the year, building on the success of their previous EPs and singles. One of those singles, “ILYSB,” now has a music video, and it’s a seriously demented tale.

We start with a shot of a girl, followed by LANY in a car. The girl we see is living in a nice home with a guy who isn’t a part of the band, and lead singer Paul Klein looks a little forlorn. From there shots of the two groups of characters alternate, with the band members eventually donning Friday The 13th-style masks and baseball bats and creeping up to the house. It doesn’t end well for our heroine’s male companion. Klein said of the video in a press release:

“It would have been the least creative, most predictable thing in the world to run thru a field and fly down the PCH in a convertible with the ‘love of my life’ … hand-in-hand, wind-in-hair. i had an opportunity to flip the script, to beautifully blindside the fan and the critic. i turned ‘ILYSB’ into a tragedy of unhealthy obsession and unrequited love that ultimately led to psychotic behavior and total derailment.”
