Power couple and part TIDAL owners Beyoncé and Jay Z announced the plans for the second annual TIDAL Benefit show a couple weeks ago, and the star-studded event is scheduled to kick off next week at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on October 15. The event will donate all proceeds to The Robin Hood Foundation, an organization developed to support education for New York City children.
Tickets to the TIDAL X 1015 are averaging $185 on the resale market, but the cheapest ticket is starting at just $58, marking a 53 percent decrease in price from last year’s event. Primary tickets, although limited in availability, start at $50 and range in price up to $100,000 for some VIP packages.
Beyoncé and Jay Z will take the stage as hosts with Nicki Minaj, and headlining artists include Alicia Keys, Common, Robin Thicke, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and more. Marc E. Bassy will be featured as one of the “TIDAL Rising Acts.” For those unable to attend, the event will be streamed exclusively through the streaming service TIDAL.
The 2016 TIDAL X 1015 benefit will be a continuation of last year’s TIDAL X 1020 Benefit, which featured Nicki Minaj, Prince, Usher, Lil’ Wayne, and more. The 2015 benefit concert was announced in an effort to continue to build on the service’s first year in business. Last year, the money raised was donated across various organizations that focused on community building and fighting for social injustices.
Beyoncé has been supporting her Formation World Tour since April, and continues to remain one of priciest concert tour of the year. Tickets for all scheduled Formation dates averaged $242, with the priciest performance—her June 7 stop at CitiField in Queens—averaging just under $500 for resale tickets.
