While not fighting super villains in a bat costume, Ben Affleck is a pretty accomplished director. The Town was a taught, fantastic film, and as you might know, Argo won an Oscar for Best Picture. Last night we got a trailer for Affleck’s next effort in the realm of directing, Live By Night.

This time around, Affleck portrays Joe Coughlin, a war veteran turned gangster in—you guessed it—Boston. The film follows Coughlin’s exploits in the mob world in both Boston and Tampa. Along with tussles with other mobsters, it appears we’ll also be dealing with Coughlin’s internal struggle as well, as Zoe Saldana’s character Graciella Suarez ponders if Coughlin is “cruel enough” for the life he’s chosen. The trailer’s pretty light on plot beyond setting up who Coughlin is, but we do get a lot in the way of some good ole ’20s gangster action. There are robberies, shootouts, explosions, car chases—you name it, the trailer has it. The cinematography looks gorgeous, and the movie definitely has the look and feel of the Prohibition setting down. The cast is equally impressive, with Scott Eastwood, Sienna Miller, Elle Fanning, Brendan Gleeson, and Anthony Michael Hall amongst the actors joining Affleck and Saldana.

Check out the trailer for Live By Night below. The film is headed to theaters on January 13, 2017.
