We’re big into BANKS here at Substream, and we’ve been jamming her latest single “Gemini Feed” ever since it dropped earlier this month. It’s an atmospheric and powerful track that finds the LA songstress reflecting on the emotionally controlling and abusive behavior of an ex. Today the track got a music video, and it’s just as striking as the song itself.
The video is directed by Philippa Price, and stars BANKS herself in a number of settings. We see her dressed in white with a blinding white light around her contrasted with her in black with a subdued lighting scheme of dark blues and reds. While these two sides of her are metaphorically connected, they’re also literally connected to one another with many lengths of black and white rope. Along with this duality, we also see BANKS on an electrically charged throne, her face elaborately adorned in a variety of jewels.
“Gemini Feed” is the opening track of BANKS’ upcoming second album, The Altar, which is set for release on September 30 through Harvest Records. You can pre-order the album here, and watch the video for “Gemini Feed” below.
